Punish a…FAKE NEWS!

Last month in the media, it was reported a letter had been delivered to people in the UK. The letter was known as “Punish a Muslim day”. The date given for the punish a Muslim day was 3rd April.

The letter is displayed below.

As you will see there are many flaws in the letter.

The first being “woman”, curiously placed inbetween speech marks, the second being, it says “Nuke Mecca”.

It is said the idea behind the letter is that any random person can pick an option in the letter to gain a certain amount of points.

The other strange thing about the letter is the address given for more information is Her Majesty’s Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) and this is now being investigated.

Aside from this, it wasn’t explored in the media or the government how your average person could obtain the resources to “Nuke Mecca”, nor was it explored that any one of these options would result in retaliation by Islamic law.

For instance to “Nuke Mecca” would mean Pakistan would retaliate. The other likely option, is a fatwa would be decreed for Jihad, meaning a world war would likely ensue as all able Muslims respond to their duty to defend Muslim land. At the very least Muslims would fulfil their obligation of Jihad to protect Muslims and Muslim lands without a fatwa being needed.

The history of Islam at the time of Muhammad is littered with stories of persecution of Muslims, specifically Muhammad.

Shortly after the first victory in Islam, the Battle of Badr – which was between the Muslims and the Mecca pagan Quraysh tribe – Muhammad and army needed to display to the Jewish tribes they were gaining authority.

The Jewish tribe of Banu Qaynuqa are reported to have broken the covenant (treaty) of Medina with Muslims, by supporting Muhammads enemies.

Nowadays it’s disagreed by scholars whether the covenant has been broken between Muslims and the UK, or the west in general, due to the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

Israel is also an aggravating factor.

The general rule when something is disagreed by scholars, Muslims are able to make their own judgement on a matter and act accordingly as their account will be with Allah. If they were mistaken then no blame is upon them by other Muslims, as there was no clear authority on the matter.

This short clip is from the Dispatches programme in 2007, “Britain under Attack”, well before The Islamic State announced a caliphate.

However the Qur’an made clear what is to happen if a Muslim believes the covenant is broken.

Martin Ling, the author of “Muhammad, his life based on the earliest sources”, reported this verse was revealed due to the Jews breaking the covenant.

“If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms. Indeed, Allah does not like traitors.” (8/58)

Due to this, shortly after the Battle of Badr, Muhammad gathered the Jewish tribe in the market place in Medina and declared.

“0 Jews, beware lest God bring upon you the vengeance that He brought upon Quraysh and become Muslims. You know that I am a prophet who has been sent- you will find that in your scriptures and God’s covenant with you.”

Their reply was,

“0 Muhammad, you seem to think that we are you people. Do not deceive yourself because you encountered a people with no knowledge of war and got the better of them; for by God if we fight you, you will find that we are real men]”

(Ibn Ishaq, The life of Muhammad pg 363)

This was an invitation to Islam, the Jews rejecting this would not bode well for them in the future.

These verses in the Qur’an are reported to be from this event.

“Indeed, those who disbelieve – never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. And it is they who are fuel for the Fire.” (3/10)

“[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in penalty.” (3/11)

” Say to those who disbelieve, “You will be overcome and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place.” (3/12)

“Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met – one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision.”(3/13)

It appears by this Allah is inciting in the army a desire to go out and fight again, and as the Qur’an was now saying the Jews had broken the treaty it is not a surprise what came next.

In ahadith and within many biographical and Islamic historical accounts of Muhammad, It is reported a Jewish man pinned a Muslim woman’s veil in such a way that when she stood up she was stripped “naked”.

By pure coincidence one option in the “Punish a Muslim letter” is to pull the hijab off a Muslim woman.

This was viewed as assault and to attack a Muslim in Islam means it is an obligation on all to defend the person.

A Muslim man killed the Jewish man and this then led to Jews retaliating to the murder and they killed the Muslim man.

The Jewish tribe retreated to their Fort and Muhammad besieged the Banu Qaynuqa tribe for up to fourteen days.

Muhammad believed the constitution of Medina had been broken so he set out on a path to terrorise the Jewish tribe, just as later on with the Banu Nadir tribe, when Muhammad stated Angel Jibril had told him the Jews were planning to kill him.

The Jews of Banu Qunuqu (like the Banu Nadir later on) surrendered and Muhammad expelled them from Medina.

“So if you, [O Muhammad], gain dominance over them in war, disperse by [means of] them those behind them that perhaps they will be reminded.”(8/57)

Muhammad and his companions financially gained from the expulsion as the Jewish tribe were Goldsmiths, they were required to leave their tools and weapons behind, Allah and Muhammad gained one fifth of the “war booty” and the remainder was divided between the Muslims.

This accumulation of “war booty” from this event, plus subsequent raids and battles gave Muhammad the resources he needed to eventually conquer Mecca.

This story is in Ibn Ishaq, The life of Muhammad, The Sealed Nectar, Martin Lings biography of Muhammad, Al Tabari and the hadith.

It should be noted Muhammad went to Medina as a refugee and was welcomed with open arms, now just two years after migration to Medina he was deporting people from their own land. Within five years the men were refused this option and were beheaded, the women and children taken as slaves, or sold in a slave market.

There is no proof these events occurred other than in the Islamic sources and in some cases people ultimately only have Muhammads word they occurred, such as when Angel Jibril used to alert Muhammad people were going to attack him, plus all revelations in the Qur’an were only heard by Muhammad.

Nowadays Muslims report Islamophobia or hate crime, these incidents are logged in crime statistics, even if at a later date the stories are deemed to be fabricated. This article gives examples of such instances in America. Although other countries have had their fair share of false reports as well.

The “Punish a Muslim day” letters are under police and anti terror investigations, but so far no arrests have been made and there are no reports of finding DNA on the letter or envelopes, which seems strange as they were allegedly sent to many people in many regions.

The public are told on a daily basis “Islam is a religion of peace” and Jihad is misunderstood.

If Islam was a religion of peace and the texts are misinterpreted, the leaders of Muslim community would have ensured the revelation of the letters were buried due to “extremists” misconstruing the Islamic law in retaliation.

In addition to this a fatwa could have been issued by Muslim clerics to ensure Muslims do not react violently, however as this is required in Islamic law, this might go some way to explain why this has not happened.

For instance this verse which was the first verse revealed about Jihad, is an order for Muslims to use in retaliation if the situation arises.

“Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.” (2/190)

The Muslim leaders, the community, media, the government haven’t buried the letters which are surely there to incite, even though attacks by Muslims are buried on a daily basis, just in case what is termed as the “far right” want revenge.

In case you are not aware of what I mean, please watch the video of the BBC reporter below saying, if there was nothing to read about what had been done by… Muslims, that (Finsbury Park) would not have been the target.

So surely the same rules would apply in this case?

Or do only Muslims deserve adequate media coverage when it comes to alleged attacks on their community?

However this wasn’t done in regards to the letters and great lengths have been made to blame non-Muslims and promote a campaign called “Love a Muslim day”.

It must be purely coincidence the date is one year to the day Jihadis bombed the Russian Metro in St Peterburg, which resulted in 64 injured and 15 innocents losing their life in the name of Allah. The Jihadi also died, but that was his goal, to attain paradise as promised by Allah and Allah’s messenger.

Whilst the media pore over the details of the letters – all whilst remaining unproven to have been sent by non-Muslims – we live with the very real threat the Islamic world has brought to our lands.

We are now drawing near to Ramadan, which is a time when Muslims become more connected with their faith and one of the best deeds in Islam is to fight in the way of Allah. Therefore during this period there is always a rise in Jihad.

And the rise in the strength of the Ummah who by stealth and Jihad of the pen are making it possible for the government and media to silence any discussion about Islam.

Muslims hold the Qur’an true to the word of their god and Muhammad was the Messenger of that god. His life and the community around him at the time are the example for all Muslims and when Muhammad felt threatened, justified or not, he made sure he subjugated the people and when he gained enough power if they didn’t submit to Islamic rule, he ordered they be killed.

Muslims will say this was because he was persecuted, but later in the story of Muhammad, he was not persecuted, he had authority and military power.

His goal was to make Allah’s word the highest in the land and all Muslims were handed that obligation.

The final ruling on Jihad which was replaced by the first verse “to only fight those who fight you”, was,

“And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (9/5)

Granted, there are rules around that, but one only needs to learn those rules to see as Islam grows in strength, what is in store for the future of the west.

“O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness. And know that Allah is with the righteous.”
